An open heart, the chosen one, desperation or inspiration

3 Reflections From My Week

1.

I deep-cleaned my home over the weekend with the same amount of love and devotion I put into cleaning my dad’s home and felt the same level of deep joy.

Opening your heart impacts everything you do, whether you’re scrubbing floors or making love.

2.

There’s always at least one person in the family chosen to do the work of releasing the trauma of their ancestors and transforming the deep-seated patterns. My clients are those people.

I recently facilitated a plant medicine journey and my client was guided to release the energetic baggage from her family line through her body. It was profound to witness and life changing for her.

The work we do, doesn’t just transform us. It energetically ripples through our immediate family, generations to come, our community, and the collective at large.

Because we are all connected.

3.

You are powerful.

You have the power to change any pattern, at any time in your life. It starts with a fierce, no-excuses commitment… a refusal to accept any other outcome than the one you’ve decided on.

This catalytic moment usually comes at a point of desperation… when you’ve fallen flat on your face and feel the pain of deep suffering. But it doesn’t have to. You always have a choice.

But whatever path brings you there is a blessing, whether it comes through desperation or inspiration. Be grateful for it all.

2 Questions For You

Are you the chosen one in your family?

What generational pattern is waiting for you to release and rewrite?

1 Thing I’m Obsessed With

I love taking long morning walks with my weight vest. It increases my strength and stamina. Works my core. And helps to prevent osteoporosis. What’s not to love?

Big love,
Po

Being generous, truth about “small” wins, and aging myths

3 Reflections From My Week

1.

Kindness has been reverberating in my world...both in the giving and receiving.

A shared smile with a stranger on my morning walk.
A new associate offering me her apartment while I’m in her city.
Me picking up the tab for a friend at an event.

There’s something profoundly grounding about being open and connected.

It’s in these moments that we remember why we’re here. To show up fully, to impact others, and to create ripples of positive impact in the world.

2.

Celebrating every single 1% is what will shift you out of any stuckness.

It’s easy to fall into black-and-white thinking and believe your efforts aren’t enough. But the more you judge your progress, the more you keep yourself stuck.

Transformation is supported by honoring the smallest, most subtle shifts. It’s easy to celebrate the obvious wins; it takes a true practitioner to see, honor, and amplify the “small” ones.

3.

Don’t let cultural conditioning convince you that aging means pain, chronic illness, medications, or feeling rundown.

It’s a story we’ve been sold by industries that profit from keeping us unhealthy.

We get to choose how we age. My 94-year-young dad taught me that. Decades ago he completely shifted my perspective on aging just by living with health, purpose, and vitality every single day. And still does.

2 Questions For You

Where are you withholding kindness, love, or generosity in your life?

Why are you withholding it?

1 Thing I’m Obsessed With

I just got an air fryer and now I’m wondering how I ever lived without it! 🍗

I love fried chicken but not the seed oils or the idea of restaurants reusing the same oil over and over.

So I made my first batch last night…not quite as good as deep-fried, but it still hit the spot. Easy, fast, and totally satisfying! This is the one I bought.

Accepting death, beauty of the mundane & aging strong

3 Reflections From My Week

1.

Death, and conversations about death, brings us back in connection to ourselves and what’s important, beyond the static that can fill our day to day.

Even though most people avoid thinking or talking about death because of fear, the collective is craving honest conversations.

I saw this yesterday when I shared my experience with accepting death and my dad’s end-of-life plan on social media. The really response surprised and inspired me.

2.

There’s so much beauty in the mundane moments… in the shared silence with a loved one. No words are needed. Just presence and an open heart.

I’ve been having these kinds of moments while in Beijing with my dad. There’s so much to be grateful for, and so much to receive, when we’re open to the subtleties of life and let go of our attachment to sensational peak experiences.

Peak moments are incredible, of course. But when we need them in order to feel something, it’s a sign that numbness and desensitization is present. The more we thaw… the more we re-sensitize… the more beauty we can feel in the quiet, in-between spaces of life.

3.

I’ve always known that building muscle is important, especially as we age, but being around my 94 year young dad this week is really driving it home and is inspiring me to recommit to strength training.

While he’s healthy and very mobile, seeing the changes in his body this week has been such a powerful reminder: without muscle strength, we risk losing our independence and are more vulnerable to falls and fractures as we age.

2 Questions For You

If you were to live a life with no regrets, what would you need to do, or stop doing, to make that a reality?

Are there any estate planning to-do’s you’ve been meaning to take care of? Like adding beneficiaries to your accounts, creating a will and trust, or asking friends who would care for your kids or pets if something happened to you.

1 Thing I’m Obsessed With

If you love watching artists grow into their craft, and enjoy a good competition show, check out Building the Band on Netflix. These singers can sang! I was so moved by their voices, artistry, and commitment… I had full-body chills more than once. That’s how deeply some of the bands touched me

I'd love your feedback. Anything spark for you while reading this newsletter? What do you want more or less of? This newsletter is for you!

Removing the mask, Yin & Yang of parenting and action over awareness

3 Reflections From My Week

1.

I went to a gathering last night and had the best time. Partly because the women there were so open, kind, and fun.

And partly because the host created a space for connection. But the number one reason? I was fully myself. Loud laughter and all.

Authenticity and realness always win.

Removing the masks, and the perfectionistic, performative ways we learned to survive, is what creates the outcomes we truly desire.

2.

Kids need a balance of yin and yang leadership from their parents. The compassion and nurturing of yin, and the protection and boundaries of yang.

If we didn’t receive one or both when young, a part of us may long for what was missing, or overcompensate for the painful ways we were parented by not giving ourselves the yin and yang leadership we truly need.

It’s up to us to learn how to reparent ourselves. Not from blame, but from a grounded knowing of what helps our nervous system feel safe.

3.

Awareness is the first step but committing to implementing it is where the real work begins.

Someone said this to me 10 years ago, and it smacked me awake in the best way: “Awareness without action is like sitting in a shitty diaper.”

Let that sink in.

2 Questions For You

Where do you know something, but haven’t brought it into how you live or lead?

What’s stopping you from taking action on that awareness?

1 Thing I’m Obsessed With

If you’ve been following my journey, you know I’ve been diving deep in the world of metabolic health through the carnivore diet and supporting it with fasting. Metabolic health is the #1 driver behind chronic illness, mental health, and overall energy.

I’ve been using this glucose and ketone monitor to support me in this process. It tracks if I’m in ketosis (a metabolic state where your body switches from burning sugar for energy to burning fat for energy).

I’m on my way to Beijing as you read this newsletter and you better believe I brought it to see what my dad’s numbers are! I also filled my whole suitcase with the 3 things I take every day, just for him. Yes, I’m that person.

  • BEAM minerals: Most of us are mineral deficient and dehydrated at a core level. I recommend Electrolyze, Microboost and the shot glass to make it easier to measure. Each bottle lasts 2 months (use code GLOW for a 20% off)

  • Spirulina: It wakes up my brain and gives me energy. I take 6 capsules every morning. (they have powder form)

  • Chlorella: It supports my body’s natural detoxification process. I take 12 capsules before bed (they have powder form)

The judgement trap, a leadership secret, and the most underrated strategy for expansion

3 Reflections From My Week

1.

Feeling guilt and shame about a behavior is often more damaging than the behavior itself because they trap you in the very cycle you're trying to break.

I remember when I was addicted to smoking pot and told my dad how bad I felt for not being able to quit. He said, “Feeling bad about smoking is worse than smoking.”

That landed.

2.

The highest-level leaders I work with are always the most coachable because they’re open and willing to receive.

Your capacity to receive sets the ceiling for how much you can expand.

3.

Creating space to just BE is the most underrated strategy for upleveling your professional and personal life because the constant noise of doing and consuming drowns out your inner wisdom.

2 Questions For You

What’s one thing you are committed to not judging yourself for anymore?

On a scale of 1-10, how receptive are you?

1 Thing I’m Obsessed With

Since so much of my work happens on the computer, I got blue light blocker glasses.

One pair for daytime to protect eye strain and another for the evening to support my body’s natural melatonin production so I can get deeper, more nourishing sleep. Highly recommended.

Creating space, cultivating connection & laughgasms

3 Reflections From My Week

1.

Stepping away from work, and even thinking about it, for an extended time creates space for receptivity. It’s in that space where spontaneous moments of magic and miracles unfold, beyond planned outcomes and the limits of a linear life

2.

Intimacy can’t exist without vulnerability. Sometimes that means saying, “No,” or “Ouch that hurt”. These moments are where connection gets a chance to happen, and where you find out if the other person can meet you there.

3.

Doing the deep inner work is life changing and so is laughing your ass off and having fun.

2 Questions For You

When was the last time you laughed so hard your belly hurt?

How much space are you intentionally creating, for play, rest, and simply being with life?

1 Thing I’m Obsessed With

Dr. Berg’s junk food meter helped me to clean out my pantry and fridge last week. It’s free and so easy to use.

Just scan a barcode or take a pic of the nutrition facts, and boom, you see where on the scale that item falls on the junk food scale.

Big love,
Po

P.S. His exhale though 😂

The Weekly Dose: Nice vs kind, acceptance as love & how to enter into the work

3 Reflections From My Week

1.

When you try to fix, save, or rescue others by being nice, you block the full potential of the relationship, whether it’s with a friend, employee, or partner.

But when you’re kind, it can unlock trust, deepen connection, and invite the introspection (and evolution) that comes from being a mirror.

Kindness = truth + compassion = clean truth-telling

2.

Acceptance is one the deepest expressions of love.

We try to control each other to avoid our own discomfort. But the freedom we really desire comes from surrendering and trusting life.

Read more in my post about my dad’s 94th birthday.

3.

The way you enter the work is just as important as the way you do the work.

If you enter with all-or-nothing thinking, you’ll end up disappointed and judging yourself for not doing or being enough.

But if you enter the work celebrating every single 1% insight and shift, you’ll open yourself to the endless possibilities ahead.

2 Questions For You

Where did you learn to be nice?

What is in the way of you being kind?

1 Thing I’m Obsessed With

I started eating keto again after a 5-year break, and immediately felt a boost in energy and focus. That led me down a carnivore diet rabbit hole and the research I found blew my mind.

I’ve been experimenting with a mix of both (mostly carnivore) over the past week and… I feel amazing.

If you're curious, check out this episode of The Diary of a CEO, where a psychiatrist shares powerful insights on the connection between food and mental health.

Spoiler: Her patients, and research studies, show that people with mental illnesses have experienced full remission.

Big love,
Po

P.S. Spiritual awakening anyone??
