Removing the mask, Yin & Yang of parenting and action over awareness
3 Reflections From My Week
1.
I went to a gathering last night and had the best time. Partly because the women there were so open, kind, and fun.
And partly because the host created a space for connection. But the number one reason? I was fully myself. Loud laughter and all.
Authenticity and realness always win.
Removing the masks, and the perfectionistic, performative ways we learned to survive, is what creates the outcomes we truly desire.
2.
Kids need a balance of yin and yang leadership from their parents. The compassion and nurturing of yin, and the protection and boundaries of yang.
If we didn’t receive one or both when young, a part of us may long for what was missing, or overcompensate for the painful ways we were parented by not giving ourselves the yin and yang leadership we truly need.
It’s up to us to learn how to reparent ourselves. Not from blame, but from a grounded knowing of what helps our nervous system feel safe.
3.
Awareness is the first step but committing to implementing it is where the real work begins.
Someone said this to me 10 years ago, and it smacked me awake in the best way: “Awareness without action is like sitting in a shitty diaper.”
Let that sink in.
2 Questions For You
Where do you know something, but haven’t brought it into how you live or lead?
What’s stopping you from taking action on that awareness?
1 Thing I’m Obsessed With
If you’ve been following my journey, you know I’ve been diving deep in the world of metabolic health through the carnivore diet and supporting it with fasting. Metabolic health is the #1 driver behind chronic illness, mental health, and overall energy.
I’ve been using this glucose and ketone monitor to support me in this process. It tracks if I’m in ketosis (a metabolic state where your body switches from burning sugar for energy to burning fat for energy).
I’m on my way to Beijing as you read this newsletter and you better believe I brought it to see what my dad’s numbers are! I also filled my whole suitcase with the 3 things I take every day, just for him. Yes, I’m that person.
BEAM minerals: Most of us are mineral deficient and dehydrated at a core level. I recommend Electrolyze, Microboost and the shot glass to make it easier to measure. Each bottle lasts 2 months (use code GLOW for a 20% off)
Spirulina: It wakes up my brain and gives me energy. I take 6 capsules every morning. (they have powder form)
Chlorella: It supports my body’s natural detoxification process. I take 12 capsules before bed (they have powder form)
Big love,
Po
P.S. My bestie texts me the best captions with social media posts: “When my bestie keeps trying to tell me about the power of inner child healing, magic mushrooms, and pleasure…and I’m struggling…” 😂
